Indian benchmark equity indices ended Thursday's session on a mildly positive note amid range-bound trading. The BSE Sensex rose by 138.37 points (0.19%) to close at 74,902.59, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 46.30 points (0.20%) to settle at 23,477.80.

Sectoral performance remained mixed across the board. Nifty IT, FMCG, and Auto indices led the gains, offering vital support to the headline indices. On the flip side, Nifty Metal and PSU Banking counters faced selective profit-taking after recent run-ups. Key gainers for the day included heavyweights such as Infosys, ITC, and Mahindra & Mahindra, while Tata Steel and State Bank of India ended marginally lower.

On the macroeconomic front, broader market sentiment was supported by stable Brent crude oil prices hovering near $78 per barrel and a resilient Indian Rupee against the US Dollar. In institutional activity, robust Domestic Institutional Investor (DII) buying helped offset moderate Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) outflows, keeping market undertones cautiously optimistic ahead of key global macroeconomic data releases.
