Indian Benchmark Indices End Higher as Sensex Gains 330 Points Led by IT and Banking Stocks

Indian equity benchmark indices ended Friday's session on a positive note, capping off the week with steady gains. The NSE Nifty 50 closed 84.80 points or 0.35% higher at 24,175.65, while the BSE Sensex surged 330.91 points or 0.43% to settle at 77,264.51.

Broad-based buying across heavyweights in the IT, Private Banking, and Auto sectors supported the headline indices throughout the day. Key gainers included ICICI Bank, Infosys, and Tata Motors, whereas FMCG and Metal counters witnessed mild profit-booking at elevated levels. Broader market sentiment remained encouraging, with the Nifty Midcap and Smallcap indices matching the front-line rally.

Macroeconomic cues provided a favorable backdrop for domestic equities. Brent crude oil prices traded steadily near $78 per barrel, easing immediate inflation concerns, while the Indian Rupee traded largely flat against the US Dollar. Robust Domestic Institutional Investor (DII) inflows continued to provide a strong cushion against selective Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) selling, keeping the broader undertone positive.
